Optimize the Training Program for English Majors in Vocational Colleges under the Guidance of OBE Concept

Abstract: The talent training program is a concrete implementation program to achieve the goal of talent training, and also a program to guide the establishment of curriculum system and the implementation of teaching work. In the new round of English major teaching reform with the basic spirit of “quality-leading, diversified training and classified excellence”, we must start from optimizing talent training programs. Taking the 2016 talent training program for English majors of Civil Aviation University of China as an example, the author summarizes the problems existing in the implementation process and proposes that when revising the new talent training program, feasible training objectives should be set according to the needs of the industry. In the course system setting, the OBE concept should be taken as the guidance. Drawing lessons from the standard of engineering education certification, the curriculum system design is rationally planned and continuously optimized to push the reform of English major into depth.
