Driven by Innovative Thinking, Make Full Use of the Short Semester to Catalyze the Scientific Research Level of Teachers and Students

Abstract: Because of its concentration and flexibility, short semesters has a unique educational effect in integrating teaching resources, cultivating students' independent learning, broadening their horizons, and solving problems independently. It has been gradually adopted by many universities as an important part of the talent training system. Using short semesters to carry out social practice, special lectures, characteristic practical teaching courses, competitions and other projects, more and more colleges and universities have made short semesters an extension of classroom teaching. From the perspective of scientific innovation, this article expounds in detail how colleges and universities use short semesters in terms of understanding connotation, long-term planning, rational distribution, and talent training. By reforming teaching methods and breaking traditional concepts, they catalyze the innovative thinking and scientific research capabilities of teachers and students. In turn, it will integrate with international universities and further deepen the reform of university education.
