Abstract: We are in an era of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation". It is a high consensus of innovation education for college students in the new era to cultivate innovation awareness, creativity, entrepreneurship and innovative talents. The innovation and entrepreneurship education of college students can promote the reform of higher education, improve the quality of university education and help students realize greater development of their career. This paper puts forward the project-oriented core training mode. With the guidance of universities and the teachers' organizations, students could really participate in innovation and entrepreneurship research projects, therefore the initiative of students' innovation and entrepreneurship, corresponding research ability and project management ability are effectively improved. The results of exploration and practice show that the project-oriented innovation and entrepreneurship education of college students plays a very important role in improving the innovation consciousness, the training level of application-oriented talents and the ability of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
