Research on Teaching Reform of Swimming Course in College Physical Education Major

Abstract: Swimming is the main course of physical education in colleges. Learning the swimming skills has a positive and practical significance for the employment of physical education students and reducing the occurrence of drowning accidents. Through literature research and teaching practice, it is found that the teaching of swimming courses is faced with the lack of swimming facilities, teaching content needs to be enriched, shortage of professional teachers and other problems affect the improvement of the teaching effect of the course. Therefore, it is proposed that the teaching objectives, teaching content, teaching mode and teaching evaluation should be taken into consideration. The idea of curriculum reform is to make the sports major students master the swimming teaching and training methods, be familiar with the water safety education content, and have the ability of self-rescue and rescue from drowning, so as to realize the sports goal, education goal and social value of the course.
