Abstract: As an important carrier of quality education, ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges occupies an important position in the teaching of higher vocational courses. The traditional higher vocational ideological and political education model is single and lacks innovation. Therefore, it is necessary to further improve the teaching innovation of ideological and political courses. As an innovative course teaching method, mind mapping has a good application effect in practical application. In this regard, it is proposed to actively do a good job in ideological and political teaching in higher vocational colleges and promote the use of mind mapping in higher vocational ideological and political education effective teaching application in teaching. This article introduces the necessity of the application of mind map in the teaching of ideological and political courses in higher vocational colleges, analyzes the current situation of higher vocational ideological and political courses, and explores the methods and countermeasures of the application of mind maps in higher vocational ideological and political teaching.
