Abstract: This paper makes a primary investigation into the application of blended collaborative learning (BCL) into college English teaching. This new pattern combines face-to-face and online teaching and learning with the use of advanced communication technologies including mobile learning platform and WeChat. It is supposed to improve learners’ learning effectiveness through face-to-face or online group collaborative activities, especially for those who lack self-regulation and knowledge construction ability. With the convenience provided by Internet, students can conduct independent learning activities and improve their English competence in effective environments which involve face-to-face sessions and online aspects.
