Abstract: To serve the key strategic needs of the country development, higher education needs to cultivate compound talents who can meet the needs of economic and social development in the new era. College physics, as a compulsory public basic course for all non physics and engineering majors, has theoretical knowledge points that permeate almost all fields of natural sciences, laying a solid foundation for students to study courses in various majors. However, the current university physics knowledge points are single, the teaching mode is traditional, and the compatibility with students'professional courses is weak, which cannot meet the needs of talent cultivation in the new era. This article mainly proposes teaching reform strategies from four aspects: student interests, teacher comprehensive abilities, textbooks, and assessments, hoping to improve the quality of talent cultivation.
