Abstract: In the context of the new era, the reform of physical education teaching in universities is an inevitable trend in the development of the physical education field. The reform of physical education in Chinese universities is crucial for the growth of current students and the establishment of lifelong sports awareness. Based on this, this article deeply explores the practical needs and challenges faced by the reform of physical education teaching in universities in the new era, and explores practical paths from multiple aspects, proposing measures such as optimizing curriculum settings, innovating teaching methods, strengthening teacher team construction, and ensuring resource and facility construction. The aim is to improve the quality of physical education teaching in universities, promote the comprehensive development of college students, and better adapt to social needs through these measures.
