Exploration of Talents Cultivating Mode of Polymer Materials and Engineering Driven by Academic Competitions and Innovation Projects

Abstract: Promotion of quality of application-oriented talents, improving college students'innovative ability, is not only a new a strategic measure to enhance the national independent innovation ability but also the main goal that higher education teaching aims to achieve. This paper comes up with a talent cultivating mode, which is based on the curriculum system, being carried out through academic competitions such as National College Students Polymer Materials Experiment and Practice Competition, National College Students Chemical Engineering Design Competition and other kinds of innovation and entrepreneurship projects, aiming to cultivate the ability of practice and innovation during the whole process. It has been practiced and found that it has stimulated students' enthusiasm for learning and their innovative awareness, cultivating their practice and creative ability, and effectively improving their comprehensive quality and competitiveness and thus promoting the quality of application-oriented talents.
