Abstract: For the civil engineering college education in Guangxi, the geotechnical and underground engineering direction is a new professional direction. The professional direction has the characteristics of strong practicality and active industry. There are also enterprises in the geotechnical engineering field with certain strength in Guangxi, so it has the conditions to carry out the construction of modern industrial college. Therefore, the significance of the construction of modern industrial college is discussed, and the dilemma of geotechnical engineering in the construction of modern industrial college is analyzed; Referring to relevant literature, this paper discusses the construction strategy of modern industrial college of local private universities according to the teaching characteristics of geotechnical engineering.
