Abstract: This article mainly discusses the path on the construction of first-class disciplines in local universities. Firstly, this article analyzes the problems in the construction of first-class disciplines in local universities, including the lack of long-term development plans and strategic positioning, insufficient construction of teaching staff, insufficient investment in scientific research funds, the need to improve the scientific research environment, and the disconnection between discipline construction and social needs. Then, the article proposes a work path for the construction of first-class disciplines in local universities, including formulating long-term and scientific development plans and strategic positioning, strengthening the construction of the teaching staff, increasing research funding investment, improving the research environment, strengthening the connection between discipline construction and social needs, and establishing and improving evaluation and feedback mechanisms for discipline construction. The research objective is to provide theoretical support and practical reference for the construction of first-class disciplines in local universities.
