Abstract: The ability and level of local universities to serve regional innovation-driven development is related to not only the development of regional economy and society, but also the transformation and development of some local universities. At present, there are still some problems in serving regional innovation-driven development of local undergraduate universities, such as weak sense of responsibility, low degree of fit between discipline construction and regional innovation-driven development needs, lagging platform construction, and imperfect mechanism. On the basis of learning from the successful experience of foreign universities in the service of regional innovation development, the high-quality development driven by innovation in service regions of local universities needs to build a perfect policy support system, a multi-level and all-round regional collaborative innovation organization system, a dynamic adjustment of specialized clusters with competitive advantages, and an institutional mechanism with reform momentum and institutional innovation.
