Abstract: Colleges and universities are an important base for the country to cultivate talents, and also a "hematopoietic factory" to input new blood into the society. Colleges and universities not only undertake the task of teaching professional skills, but also serve as the guiding standard of students' ideological development. College counselors play an important role in college students' ideological work and directly affect the quality of ideological education. However, in the ever-changing contemporary campus, all kinds of cultures and thoughts converge like a hundred flowers, which puts forward higher requirements for college counselors themselves and ideological education. In the new environment, college counselors have been endowed with new significance to students' ideological work, but also face new challenges. How to keep pace with The Times and constantly improve the educational mechanism of college students' ideological work is the focus of this paper.
