Abstract: Under the background of Chinese engineering education professional certification, the innovative model and approach of engineering practice ability cultivation of college students majoring in petroleum and natural gas are explored. In order to elaborate how to realize the cultivation of engineering practice ability of college students majoring in petroleum and natural gas, and to construct the system of professional quality, practice ability and innovation ability of college students, the issue is analyzed from four aspects: constructing a perfect engineering practice ability training environment, cultivating a team of teachers with professional practical ability, improving the training role of laboratories and practice bases, and promoting engineering practice ability training by means of subject competition. In order to realize the comprehensive training of engineering practice ability of petroleum and natural gas major college students.
