Abstract: The frontier ethnic areas are the most complex areas of value identity, and the colleges and universities in ethnic areas, as a special important group, are the front position to cultivate the socialist core values. Under the guidance of the socialist core values in the new era, the ideological and political education in colleges and universities should adhere to the Party spirit principle, carry out the principle of integrating theory with practice, follow the mainstream value orientation, find the innovation of integration method, especially adhere to the problem-oriented research, carefully examine and reflect on the essence, mission, function and rules of ideological and political education law and innovative functions. This paper hopes to provide new ideas for socialist core values education in the future, and construct a new era socialist core values cultivation mechanism suitable for ideological and political education in the frontier ethnic areas.
