Abstract: Against the background of the cultivating skilled talents and the transformation and upgrading of the animal husbandry industry, the demand for on-site engineers in the field of animal genetics and breeding is gradually increasing. As a core course for cultivating such talents, animal genetics and breeding has its teaching quality directly affecting students' ability to adapt to positions. Based on this, this paper optimization countermeasures are proposed, including reconstructing a “theory + practice”content system that meets on-site needs and designing practical links in accordance with the“post recognition - post following - post assuming”model; innovating the practical teaching model of“on-campus simulation + enterprise on-the-job training + virtual simulation”; and establishing a multi-dimensional evaluation mechanism of“process + competence + multi-subject participation”. These countermeasures are intended to enhance the practicality of the course and provide talent support for industrial development.
