Abstract: In order to train qualified new engineering professionals and adapt to the current society's demand for vehicle engineering graduates, based on the OBE (Outcome based education) concept, the teaching reform of the professional main course automobile design course is carried out. By analyzing the current development trend of the automotive industry and the direction of talent demand, we will implement specific reform measures in terms of teaching content, teaching methods, guidance of students' learning methods and supplementation of extracurricular learning resources, so as to cultivate the transformation of the fourth industrial revolution. Demand and innovative talents supporting the development of the automotive industry.
