Abstract: The transformation and upgrading of the construction industry has put forward new demands for civil engineering talents. This article takes Guangxi as an example to conduct research on the demand for talents in the civil engineering industry. Based on this, it analyzes the core competencies of civil engineering vocational students under the new situation from three aspects: moral literacy, professional literacy, and comprehensive literacy. Furthermore, it proposes market-oriented adjustments to talent training programs for civil engineering vocational colleges, relies on innovative teacher teams to implement educational and teaching reforms, and collaborates with multiple forces to improve the quality of education.
