Abstract: With the deepening of China's economic system reform, the demand for professional and technical talents is increasing day by day. As an important part of higher education in China, higher vocational education is becoming more and more important. Ideological and political education is the wind vane to promote higher vocational education, but some colleges ignore the necessity of Ideological and political education, backward teaching methods, so that the management work and ideological and political education are out of touch. In the long run, students cannot be guided to establish a correct outlook on life and values of the world, affecting their future development. Therefore, higher vocational colleges should face up to the necessity of Ideological and political education, put forward corresponding teaching strategies, promote the reform and development of Ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges, guide students to learn the socialist core values, and become the socialist successor that can promote national construction.
